MHA advocates for the practice of history in Massachusetts to the public, the public history field, and governments . In particular,  We advocate for the increased commitment of governments, educational institutions, and private organizations to the practice of local history in Massachusetts. As one of our main initiatives, the Massachusetts History Alliance advocates to relevant legislators, funders, organizers and administrators in support of the interests of the state’s smaller history organizations.
