ADVOCACY ALERT

Massachusetts History Advocates:

THE PAST MATTERS. SAVE OUR HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS!

If you care about the preservation of historical records in Massachusetts, now is the time to act. Representative David Vieira, of Falmouth has introduced a bill in the state legislature that would allow cities and towns to preserve their historical records through the use of Community Preservation Act Funds. House Bill #3087 (https://malegislature.gov/Bills/192/H3087) is currently stalled in the Review Committee. That Bill expands the use of CPA funds to allow for the digitization of vital historical records. Vast amounts of essential historical documents are at risk of turning to dust unless something is done. Take advantage of this opportunity. Find your representative here: https://malegislature.gov/search/findmylegislator.

Let them know you want House Bill #3087 to become law! Act before it is too late!

Together we are strong!
