PUBLICK OCCURRENCES — April 28, 2021

Virtual networking continues throughout the month of June! 

Join colleagues and peers from around the Commonwealth for lively conversations at Cafes on the Commons on three consecutive Fridays from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. These networking sessions are likely to be of interest to particular special interest groups, but all are welcome as they aim to enrich history practice for everyone! 

 

  • Friday, 6/11 Teaching History
    Moderator: Margo Shea, Assistant Professor of History at Salem State University
    This networking session may be of interest to teachers, archivists and librarians, docents and demonstrators, and all public history practitioners who engage with audiences for the purposes of teaching

 

  • Friday, 6/18 Working with History
    Moderator: Laura B. Roberts, former executive director of the New England Museum Association
    This networking session may be of interest to museum professionals and volunteers, historical society members and volunteers, and all public history practitioners who regularly work with history in its many representations.

 

  • Friday, 6/25 Preserving History
    Moderator: Evan Knight, Preservation Specialist, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners
    This networking session may be of interest to curators, archivists, librarians, building preservationists, historical society members and volunteers, and all public history and preservation practitioners who work to preserve history.

 

Admittance to these networking sessions is included in the 2021 Mass History Conference registration fee. If you do not register for the Mass History Conference, you will have the opportunity to register for this Class on the Commons for $5.
