What is the public benefit of preserving a historic barn, church, or house? CPA funding can provide opportunities to envision new uses for old buildings, expand access to historical and cultural resources, and promote awareness of a more inclusive historical narrative. Engaging community members along the way helps to make historic preservation projects more meaningful and impactful. The key is to think beyond your own institution. With examples from Northampton, Medford and Somerville, we explore how preservation projects can facilitate functional partnerships and transformative investment in community spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n
