Reese Hogan is a current senior at Lesley University studying both Special Education and History. Diagnosed with ADHD type combined at an early age, Hogan was placed in special education and remained there until she graduated high school. Her experience in special education fueled a desire to provide support to others, leading her to pursue special education as a career. She eventually wants to pursue a doctorate in disability studies with a focus in disability history. As a member of the neurodiverse community, Hogan was drawn to history in order to understand why people like her and many others in the disabled community had to exist in a world severely lacking in inclusion, access, and social acceptance. This sense of injustice drew her focus towards disability history in America, with a particular interest in institutionalization and the uplifting of those marginalized in the disabled community.
